Suppression Lists

Hi, everybody! My name is John Fischer, and welcome to SalesLeads.TV.

Today, I want to talk about suppression. Lately, we haven’t had too many issues in the private placement arena, but we’ve been seeing some challenges with the coin guys. A lot of coin dealers have big databases, and here’s the situation: Some of you are hesitant to give me a suppression list. You’re worried that if you share your phone numbers with me to ensure I’m not selling you data you already own, I might use those numbers to reverse append and somehow end up with your database.

Let me put your mind at ease. With all due respect, I’ve been in this business for 34 years— I probably already have your database! For some of you, it’s even tough to fulfill an order because you’ve bought so many leads from me over the years. Between us, we’ve practically exhausted what’s available on the market. Sure, a new file might occasionally come in with 20,000 or 30,000 fresh records you don’t have, but the bottom line is this: suppression is your friend, not your enemy. I don’t need your data to rip you off. I don’t need to reverse append anything. In fact, most of you send me name, address, and phone number when you provide a suppression list—and that’s fine. I don’t want your data. I just want to ensure that when I sell you leads, it’s not something you already own. Suppression protects both of us.

Here’s another advantage of providing a suppression list: I can help you identify what’s in your database. I can tell you the names of the files and help you find the sweet spots in your data. From there, you can create two lists: one with outdated or low-quality data that shouldn’t even be in your dialer, and another with newer, more viable leads. These are the leads you should focus on—the ones I’ve acquired over the last 12, 18, or 24 months. That’s the kind of database that will give you better results. If you have any questions, feel free to call me at SalesLeads.TV.

Remember: Suppression is your friend, and so am I.

By the way, today is December 2nd, and as we approach the holidays, it’s a great time to get another order in before the end of the year. Lastly, I want to touch on one more topic, but I’ll save it for the next video.

You’re going to appreciate it. We need to start teaching the younger generation how to sell. Sales talent these days is lacking, and it’s tough out there. These kids need to understand that a down market is actually an opportunity—but more on that later.

Thanks for your time, and God bless.
